Context
Picrorhiza kurroa Royle ex Benth (Scrophulariacae) is a small perennial herb distributed in the alpineHimalayan tract and in some tropical parts of India. The production of two compounds Phenyl tetraglucoside and Phenolic diglucoside bioactive in Picrorrhiza kurroa. It may suggest that it is containing an interesting bioactive compound.
Aim
This research aimed to characterize the new phenyl tetraglucoside and phenolic diglucoside compounds in Picrorrhiza species (kurroa sp.) found on the Himalayan and some tropical parts of India.
Subjects and Methods
Isolation of bioactive compounds through total methanol extracts. It has been done with spectral studies using thin layer chromatography. The structures of both compounds were elucidated on the basis of UV, IR, Nuclear Magnetic Re.. View More»
