We report the first case of near serious lingual nerve injury by GlideRite (Rigid GlideScope Stylet). This was discovered during oral surgery in an 80 year old female with a predicted difficult intubation. Some similar cases may have been missed due to the different site of surgery or the unawareness of this complication. We also reviewed other complications related to video laryngoscopes and possible solutions to avoid side effects and complications resulting from the use of these new devices. The aim of this presentation is to reduce morbidity and mortality while using these new devices leading to better patient care.
