And find out its concentration in Human Serum or Plasma. Biochemical abnormality especially clinical hypothyroidism (37.78%) is predominantly maximum followed by clinical hyperthyroidism (10%) which is satistically significant(P<0.05) with a chi-square value of 10.08. Females 32(35.56%) are having clinical thyroid dysfunction more than males 21(23.33%) which is statistically significant (P<0.05) with a chi-square value of 5.68. Again, distribution and classification of vitiligo patients with reference to thyroid disorder, whether clinical or biochemical or immunological shows that 87.78% have thyroid involvement with 5.56% subclinical hypothyroidism. Only 12.22% of vitiligo patients are not associated with any thyroid disorder.Nonetheless, there exist a correlation between the extent of skin depigmentation and level of thyroid disorder. Therefore, early routine screening of thyroid parameters TSH,T3,T4 is a must for any skin discoloration will make Clinicians and Dermatologist to achieve at the earliest diagnosis before it becomes a cosmetic problem.
