Introduction: Lumbar puncture (spinal tap) is a commonly undertaken invasive procedure to collect and test CSF for diagnosis of various brain and spinal disorders. Aim: The aim of the audit is to assess the quality of Post Lumbar puncture documentation and whether they follow the local trust guidelines with the use of LOCC SSIPs. Methodology: To retrospectively assess 37 files dated from January 2021 to July 2021 to check the use of consent form LOCC SSIPs and documentation. Result: 1. Consent taken: 37 2. Details of procedure: -Indication written: 35 -Details of procedure written (ANTT method, opening pressure if needed, sample collected and sent, any post procedure complication): 35 -Post LP advice written: 35 -LoC SSIP used: 0 Measures for Improvement: -To stick posters/ reminders above the LP kit stand. -To introduce LoCSSIP in the LP kit. -To make stickers with LP procedure steps written on it in the LP kit (which can be stuck in the patient’s file).
