Hair contributes ones personality and has always remained the centre of attraction. So each one is extra conscious about it and is in search of better remedy for their crowning glory. Since the drawbacks of modern medicines are evident, there is an utmost need of non-toxic; effective; Herbal Ayurvedic product. The aim of surgical cosmeticology is to eliminate, minimize or normalize the post-surgical scar; discoloration; loss of hair, Sushruta has avoided hair transplantation surgery and advised Upakrama like application of paste in the treatment of Alopecia. 1. Sushruta Samhita Chikitsa Sthan Sashthi Upakrma 1/8. Equal quantity of Pongmia Glabra Ferrous Sulphate (Feso 4 7H 2 O); Ferronia elephuntum mixed with coconut oil/water thick Angul lepa applied on scalp; two times; Period-till it dries off. 2. Sushruta Samhita Chikitsa sthan 1/103. 20 patients upto the age of 60 Years were selected for trial. Length of regenerated hair ( Every 14 th day Changes in signs and symptoms follow up. ) Screening of each patient. In 20 cases-3332 regenerated hair in 25mm 2 area/67 patches that means 49.73 hair per 25mm 2 area. The efficacy of drug 49.73x100/50= 99.46% Maximum average rate of growth found in 2 nd inspection i.e. 15 th to 28 th day which was 0.7mm/day Average rate of growth of hair at the end of 42 nd day was 0.59 mm/day maximum number of patients were of middle age. Equal history of gradual and sudden onset of disease; occipital region was common site of disease; 68 number of patches were found. (Including one patch of psoriasis). Itching; Whitishness; unctousness; roughness; cleanliness; dryness were found on local examination in majority of cases. Significant results; marked improvement in screening examination; Length of regenerated hair and totally covered area of patches proved that patients got totally cured. Also effective in hair loss caused by psoriasis; post-typhoid, without side effect is best in Alopecia, where generation of hair is desired.
