A review of studies on Early Attention is presented in terms of the significant changes linked to the concept, methodology and population served, in the two decades that it has been subjected to study in Spanish university education. The implications/repercussions that the new paradigm generates, regarding the objectives and contents proposed in the study plans of the Degree in Early Childhood Education and the subject Fundamentals of Early Attention (Evolutionary and Educational Psychology area) in Spanish Universities, specifically at the University of Valladolid, will directly influence the way of working of early childhood education teaching professionals.
