A cyst is a pathological cavity in the bone or soft tissue. Jaw cysts appear to be a common pathology encountered in oral surgery. In most of the cases they are asymptomatic so they can achieve to a large size. Several surgical modalities are available for treatments of large cysts depend on the location and size of the cyst and also the nature of the lesion. We treated different jaw cysts in different ways, autogenous bone or allogenic graft or even simple enucleation without any bone material was compared. The results and long term follow up were desirable. In treatment plan of pathologic cysts and the surgical intervention it is critical to be aware of potential complications that may occur during or after the intervention. Decreasing or eliminating the morbidity of pathologic lesion is of highest importance which cannot be achieved with one specific way.
Iman Tavakoli has completed his DDS from Dental School of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences. He is Resident of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 2012. He has participated in internal and international conferences and published papers in reputed journals.
