Present work was conducted with an aim to develop an economic, novel, non toxic and efficacious formulation for hyperlipidemia. This double blind study was conducted on 40 clinically diagnosed patients of Hyperlipidemia on the patients of either sex between the age group of 30 to 70 years of rural and urban areas who had abnormal lipid profile from the Out Patient Department of National Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Research, Patiala, (Punjab). Group A patients were given standard drug taken from the market in the dose of 1.0 g Three times a day with normal tap water in the form of capsule of 500 mg each whereas Group B patients were given H4 formula (an herbal cocktail) in the dose of 1.0 g three times a day with normal tap water in the form of capsule of 500 mg each for 60 days. From the results it was observed that there was a significant reduction in the levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and VLDL cholesterol and a significant increase in the levels of HDL cholesterol.

He has two young scientist awards, Award for Popularisation of Science, Research Excellence Award Gold medal, and Honorary Fellowship of International Council of Ayurveda (USA).
