He received his MD in 1983 and his PhD in1997 and has been in academic research ever since. He is currently a tenure-track associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Cincinnati. In the past twelve years, I have served as a manuscript reviewer for 9 journals and a grant reviewer for several funding organizations in the US. He has also served as an ad hoc member for the review of Challenge Grant Applications for the NIH (2009) and served on the AHA Grant Review committee (R1 Cardiac Biology/ Regulation 2).
His areas of expertise include cardiovascular biology, myocardial infarction, heart failure, heart functional evaluation, heart protection via different signaling pathways or in the field of regenerative medicine e.g. stem cells, gene therapy, tissue engineering and tissue and organ regeneration.
