Dr. Neal M. Davies received a BSc. in Pharmacy and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Alberta in Canada. He then went on to complete post-doctoral training in pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics. He has held academic positions at the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, and the University of Melbourne. He was the Chair of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and Director of Professional and Undergraduate research and an Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy at Washington State University. Dr. Davies is now Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Davies has authored over 300 publications and abstracts primarily focused on the pre-clinical and clinical pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and toxicology of anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer drugs and nutraceutical and herbal medicines and natural product chemistry including flavonoids and stilbenes. He has been currently funded by the United States National Institutes of Health, the Australian Research Council and the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry. He has served on the United States Pharmacopeia Inhalation Advisory Panel and Gastroenterology Expert Panel. Dr. Davies also acts as a consultant to a variety of pharmaceutical companies and is on the editorial board of several journals.
