Mario Barbagallo, is full Professor of Geriatrics, Director of the Geriatric Unit, University Hospital of Palermo, Director, Post-graduate program in Geriatrics, University of Palermo, Italy. He was born on March 16, 1959, in Palermo, Italy. In 1989 received a Ph.D in Physiology, University of Rome. Research Associate, Cardiovascular Center, Cornell University Medical Center, New York, NY, USA in 1991-1992, and Visiting Professor and Fulbright Scholar, Division of Endocrinology and Hypertension, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, USA in 1994-1995. Full Professor of Geriatric Medicine, at the University of Palermo from 2000. He is serving as Editor in Chief of “Giornale di Gerontologia” and Associate Editor of “Aging- Clinical and experimental Research”. Member of the editorial board of other reputed journals. Has peer reviewed more than 200 papers from several international journals. Author of more than 300 publications.
