Joseph Seabi is a Senior Lecturer and a Registered Educational Psychologist at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he is also a Chairperson of the Transformation Committee within the School of Human and Community Development at the university. He is completing his PhD in environmental health psychology. He has authored and co-authored over 26 articles in peer reviewed journals. His published articles mainly focus on Environmental health psychology exploring the association of aircraft noise exposure on learners’ attention, working memory, reading comprehension and annoyance; Transformation of higher education institutions; Career counseling of youth in marginalised communities; Teaching and learning with a focus on academic under-preparedness, attrition and throughputs rates of first year students; and School adjustment issues. He also runs a private practice and his work focuses on enhancing parent-child relationships, school adjustment issues, managing the teenage years including self-esteem, identity issues, crisis intervention, and para-suicide among others.
