Open and endovascular treatment of complex aortic and carotid disease with a particular focus on fenestrated and branched endografts to treat thoraco-abdominal and complex aortic aneurysms by endovascular means. Dr. Ricotta has dedicated much of his research to the treatment of complex aortic aneurysms with fenestrated and branched endografts and to the treatment of carotid disease with carotid endarterectomy and carotid artery stenting. In addition. Another major area of research interest is the use of surgical simulators in vascular surgery training, with a primary focus on identifying methods of objective assessment of competency for various open surgical and endovascular procedures.
