Hussam Al-Kateb is Assistant Professor of Pathology and Immunology in Washington University School of Medicine and also Associate Director of CytoGenomics and Molecular Pathology Laboratory. He is also an Training Director for the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) Clinical Molecular Fellowship Program at Washington University School of Medicine
His research interests are in the discovery of disease genes for both monogenic and complex disorders, genotype-phenotype analysis, and in developing clinical grade genetic/ genomic tests for a variety of diseases using state-of-the-art technologies that include next-generation sequencing using capture-hyprid- or amplicon based techniques. Other interests include also discovering markers in cancer that that could be used as markers for tracking minimal residual disease
