Dr. Chand Ramaiah graduated from Bangalore Medical College, India, in 1989 and subsequently did an Internship at the BMC hospitals. In 1992 he joined Surgery Department at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, as Post Doctoral Research Fellow in Neurosurgery. He then completed a 6 year General Surgery Residency at the University of Kentucky in 1999. He did his Cardiothoracic Surgery training at New England Medical Center, TUFT’s University, Boston in 2001. Joined the University of Kentucky as Assistant Professor of Surgery in 2001, in the division of CT Surgery. He was promoted to Associate Professor rank in 2005. Currently he serves as the Director of Heart Transplant Program and Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery at the University of Kentucky. My expertise include Mitral Valve repairs, Minimally invasive cardiac surgery, including Robotic Surgery, Heart and Lung transplantation and Critical Care.
