    Metabolic Syndrome: Early Detection of Its Complexity and Comprehensive Management for Improved Health Outcomes

    Metabolic syndrome is a complex disorder characterized by a cluster of interrelated conditions including abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, significantly increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and Type-2 diabetes. This syndrome is predominantly driven by lifestyle factors such as poor diet and physical inactivity. Diagnosis is based on meeting at least three of five criteria, including elevated waist circumference, high fasting glucose, elevated blood pressure, high triglycerides, and low HDL cholesterol. Effective management involves lifestyle modifications-such as improved diet and increased physical activity-as well as pharmacological interventions to address individual components of the syndrome.
