Using a VLCD strategy, lose weight in a way that reverses type 2 diabetes
Author(s): Taylor Roy
It is currently unknown whether diet-induced type 2 diabetes remission is influenced by hepatic lipoprotein metabolism. In this study, we looked at how changes in intra-pancreatic fat and the return of first phase insulin response in a subgroup of the Diabetes Remission Clinical Trial were influenced by hepatic VLDL1-triglyceride production rate and VLDL1-palmitic acid content. Liver fat, VLDL1-fatty oil creation, and intra-pancreatic fat diminished after weight reduction and remained standardized following two years of abatement. Firststage insulin reaction stayed expanded exclusively in those keeping up with diabetes reduction. People who relapsed after initial remission had a greater increase in the content of VLDL1-triglyceride and VLDL1-palmitic acid, reaccumulated intra-pancreatic fat, and lost first-phase response by 24 months compared to those in remission. Consequently, we no.. View More»
