Prospective Diagnostic Accuracy of Alvarado Score and CT Scan in Evaluation of Suspected Appendicitis

Acute appendicitis is the commonest abdominal surgical emergency with a lifetime incidence of 7%. Appendicitis is known to be the disease of the younger age group with only 5%-10% of cases occurring in elderly population.
