Impact of a Virtual Training for Laboratory Medicine Professionals in an Infodemic Stage Due to the SARS-Cov-2 Pandemic. Lima-Peru 2020

Aim and background: The objective of the study was to carry out a virtual training for Laboratory Medicine Professionals (LMP) in an infodemic stage due to the SARS-COV-2 pandemic and to evaluate the impact of this training. Materials and methods: A quasi-experimental pre-post study was designed to compare the means of the performance scores before and after the training, using the Student's t test for related samples. Results: 72 participants were included. The mean of the first evaluation was 18.67, before the training. In the second evaluation, after the training, a mean of 27.24 was obtained (p<0.001). Conclusion: The findings suggest that training in Laboratory Medicine professionals, given for the purposes of evidence-based education, generates a positive impact for the benefit of their skills, where final benefit of which will be reflected in the patients ..
