Dr. Rejean Couture is a professor in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology, Faculty of Medicine at Universite de Montreal, Station City-Center, Montréal, Qc, H3C 3J7 Canada. His research interests reflect in his/her wide range of publications in various national and international journals.
Study of neuropeptides in the central mechanisms of cardiovascular regulation (dopaminergic system in the ventral tegmental area and the substantia nigra. Development of biological and molecular markers to study new therapeutic targets in the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure. Study the involvement of oxidative stress and of the TRPV1 receptor in the induction and expression of the B1 receptor of kinins. Studying the role of kinin receptors in neuropathic pain , diabetes and high blood pressure. Receptor role of kinin B1 study in diabetic retinopathy , septic shock (treatment LPS), epilepsy (kindling models and kainate) and Alzheimer's disease (transgenic mice with?amyloid Plaques).
