Professor McIntyre's research and clinical interests cover medical disorders of pregnancy, regulation of fetal growth and intensive therapy of Type 1 diabetes. He is also a past President of the Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society (2002 - 2006) and served as Co-Chair of the National Diabetes in Pregnancy Advisory Committee for the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing during that period.
