Yoga, a traditional practice that integrates physical postures, breathing
techniques, and meditation, has gained recognition as an effective
complementary approach for managing various chronic diseases. This
article explores the role of yoga in the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes
(T2D), emphasizing its multifaceted benefits. Research suggests that
yoga can improve insulin sensitivity, reduce stress, enhance physical
fitness, and regulate body weight—all of which contribute to lowering the
risk of developing T2D. This review evaluates scientific studies, discusses
mechanisms, and provides insights into how yoga can be integrated into
prevention programs for T2D.
