Target Audience
This CME/CE activity is intended for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists who diagnose and/or treat CF.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the educational activity entitled physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, case managers, and respiratory therapists who diagnose and/or treat patients with CF should be able to:
  • Describe and employ the relationship between cystic fibrosis and pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) (knowledge)
  • Discuss and appraise the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, pharmacological/nutritional management, treatment, long term safety and short-term complications of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) (knowledge)
  • Discuss and manage the role of enzymes in improving nutritional health (knowledge, competence)
  • Explain and differentiate the importance, design, or validation of pancreatic function testing or screening and clinical evaluation in the diagnosis and management of PEI (knowledge, competence)
  • Discuss and evaluate current perspectives on appropriate dosing of enzymes. (knowledge, competence)
